Common purposes allow us to share time with the people we love.

While there may be different New Year resolutions for growing up as a family, we have chosen five. We believe they are more than enough to achieve the goal.

1. Doing volunteer work

Helping the city’s animal protection, collecting food for people in need, giving free lessons to young people with financial difficulties. There are many ideal volunteer activities to do as a family.

It will be necessary to choose how much volunteering we want to do each year or if it will be frequent. This will help us grow.

2. Starting a new pastime

It is clear that each person has different pastimes, but for sure you can find one that will be enjoyed by the whole family. It could be a hike, port, take a cooking class, learn to ride a horse, etc.

Whatever it is, the important thing is to practice it as a family, so that the experience can enrich everyone. Which pastime will we choose?

3. Establish a technology-free day

In an age as connected as the one we live in today, it is very important to learn to disconnect. Do we know how to turn off the cell phone? Are we able to leave the tablet away from us?

Making this resolution in the family will be a way to commit ourselves to respecting it. If others do it too, we won’t feel alone.  Will one day a week without technology be feasible?

4. Pay attention to what we eat

Today we are aware of the importance of a healthy diet. One thing to take into account when making New Year’s resolutions.

Why not reserve one Sunday a month to cook all together? In addition, a new food can be introduced per week, which we have never tried. It can be a way to start eating in a more balanced way.

5. Dedicate quality time to our loved ones

Children, adults, couples, friends… How many times are we with them without being present? We stay with the cell phone, we get distracted, we have other thoughts on our mind. Last year it made us realize that it is important to dedicate time to our loved ones. So let’s focus on the present moment. We take advantage of every moment.

Commitment to New Year’s Resolutions

These five New Year resolutions are different than ever before. Sharing them with the family will allow us to think about them in detail, therefore about our lifestyle and our tastes.

Occasionally a family getaway for an excursion will surely be a better alternative, or start a new pastime like kayaking. We have to analyze what we are passionate about and what will be even more fun if done all together, as a family.

Growing up as a family is very rewarding. Strengthen values, relationships, spend time with the people we love most, learn new things. This 2021 will bring with it many changes, hope, new ways of living life. What are we waiting for to establish our New Year resolutions, this time family members?
